2014 Bushnell Tour Z6 JOLT Rangefinder Review

2014 Bushnell Tour Z6 JOLT Rangefinder Review

New Bushnell Tour Z6 JOLT Rangefinder Review: $399.99

If you don’t want to do a lot of pacing on the golf course — or math — the answer is the Bushnell Tour Z6 JOLT with it’s new find-the-pin vibrating “Jolt” technology.

Performance (4.5 out of 5 stars)

Vivid display is what sets this unit apart from the Tour v3 models. Not having the best eyes, the clarity of the red display makes using this unit a breeze.

The core numbers stay the same as the original Tour Z6 and, as expected with Bushnell, have great consistency. The range is 5 to 1,300 yards and 450-plus yards to the flag. It’s also accurate to a half yard with 6x magnification.

Look (4.5 out of 5 stars)

Not much has changed with the shell of the Bushnell Tour Z6 and the Tour Z6 JOLT. Keeping with the compact size that was successful with its predecessor, the Tour Z6 JOLT body is nearly identical — and that’s not a bad thing at all.

The one change that was made was with the grip on the top half of the unit. The rubber has been raised to create a more rough feel that will secure your hand to the unit in any weather conditions. It’s ergonomic, too, making it easier to hold for longer periods of time, if need be.

The Bushnell Tour Z6 JOLT’s high-tech improvements should only help pace of play — and your game.

Technology (5 out of 5 stars)

We will start with the biggest change, which is the Jolt technology. At first seems like overkill to have to have your rangefinder vibrate when you hit the flagstick, but after testing — it is a sneaky good addition. You get quick confirmation that you indeed have lasered in on the flag, which gives you more confidence that the next shot will be precise.

The travel case is a simple, very nice upgrade from the previous generation. The harder case does feels like it will offer a bit more protection to the unit. I really like the elastic band to help close for quick entry, it’s a nice touch and helps during on course play.

Final Thoughts (overall 5 stars)

The ESP2 technology builds on the already fantastic speed of the previous generation for capturing yardage. We are now at the stage that there is nearly no lag time for shooting a target. The Bushnell Tour Z6 JOLT’s high-tech improvements should only help pace of play — and your game.
