2014 PGA Show: Major Manufacturer Booths

2014 PGA Show: Major Manufacturer Booths

Ok, the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show, the industry’s largest trade show, has come and gone, so here’s a look at some of the major exhibitors. It seems like in the last few years the measure of success has gone from how well you can showcase your products to either, A) how many scantily clad women are surrounding your booth; or B) how much your booth resembles a dimly lit European nightclub. Needless to say, TaylorMade led that charge and everyone else — mainly Callaway, Nike, and Cobra — has followed suit from there.

PING

PING had a classy and traditional look to their booth — like you’d expect a nice booth at a trade show to look like. They also had a lot of fitting experts on hand to talk about the new nFlight Mobile technology and help you play the Distance Yourself Challenge. Some lucky guy eventually won $5,000 in putt-off during that contest.

Callaway

Callaway went big — like, TANK big — this year with their booth in an effort to stay in the running, and actually pulled it off pretty well.

Cobra/PUMA

Cobra always seems more about the accessories than the equipment. Or rather, like the equipment might just be another accessory to your “I’m a golfer” look you’ve gone with for the day. Also, Rickie Fowler! Also, Blair O’Neal!!

Nike

In addition to Rory and Tiger, Nike tapped several of its non-golf athletes to add some star power to its booth. We were particularly impressed when Ken Griffey Jr. showed up.

TaylorMade

And the elephant in the room. Actually, TMaG rents out its own wing of the show to pull off its party atmosphere.
