“SLDR distance for all.” — TaylorMade

The TaylorMade SLDR S Rescue Hybrids, according to the company, offer a tremendous combination of distance and ease of launch, providing distance for all, regardless of one’s clubhead speed.

Here are some of the features on the new 2014 TaylorMade SLDR S Rescue Hybrids:

  • A low-profile head design with a shallow face to promote easy launch and outstanding playability.
  • Its patented Speed Pocket design for fast ball speed and longer distances.
  • A low-forward center of gravity (CG) to generate fast ball speed and low spin for the best possible launch conditions
  • A satin silver crown with black button-back for easier alignment at address.
  • Standard with a Fujikura shaft designed specifically for the Rescue hybrid for more  distance and accuracy.

The new S SLDR Rescue hybrids come in the TaylorMade’s new modern-classic shape, which features satin-silver crown and black “button-back.” The company calls it a “remarkably beautiful appearance at address” that’s functional as well by making clubface alignment simpler.

TaylorMade’s engineers added the company’s patented Speed Pocket design to make the face shallower while still maintaining a high rate of  speed for the SLDR S Rescue Hybrids. The SLDR S Rescue Hybrid’s face is shallower than the regular SLDR, lowering the CG in relation to the center of the clubface to make it easier to launch the ball on a high angle.

The benefit is a ball high, long-carrying flight that descends on a steep angle for quick, controlled landings, according to TaylorMade.

SLDR S Rescue Hybrid clubs come equipped with a Fujikura’ Speeder 72-H shaft, which is designed specifically for hybrids. At 72 grams, this shaft is 10 grams lighter than the original SLDR Rescue shaft and is made to increase clubhead speed. Each shaft also has been shortened by a half inch for more clubhead control and a consistent solid impact.

Finally, the new 2014 TaylorMade SLDR S Rescue Hybrids come in four set loft angles: 3-hybrid is 19 degrees, 4-hybrid 21 degrees, 5-hybrid is 25 degrees and the 6-hybrid is 28 degrees.
