Scott Re-affirms Himself: World Golf Rankings Memorial Day Week of May 26, 2014

GQ Cover Boy Adam Scott last week may have taken away No. 1 in the World Golf Rankings from an ailing Tiger Woods for the first time in 60 weeks, but the Aussie arguably proved that he belonged there with a sudden-death win at Colonial Country Club during the Crowne Plaza PGA Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, over the perpetually haggard-yet-somehow-cool Jason Dufner (and his dip).

Don't hate him cause he's beautiful. Cover boy Adam Scott keeps his spot at No. 1 in the world with a dramatic win in Texas this week.

... Dufner is a winner in the Game of Life. For instance, here is his wife, Amanda. The man's a genius.

Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, shined in golf instead of flash bulbs for once lately at the European Tour’s premier event, the BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England. He captured the trophy by beating out his closest competition by one and two strokes, Shane Lowry and then Thomas Bjorn and Luke Donald.

A week after breaking off his almost-as-annoying-as-P. Gretzky/DJ relationship with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, he had his most prestigious victory since Dubai in 2012. I guess certain one way to clear the mind is by going from No. 10 (after, at least, dropping out of the golf conversation weeks ago) to No. 6 in the WGR with a career win. No can he get a deposit

And then there was Henrik Stenson — who’s had his own chances and whiffs this year to take No. 1 from Tiger — jumping to No. 2 on planet Earth. Stenson leap-frogged Woods by finishing T7 at the BMW PGA Championship.

Here’s a link to the FedEx Cup Standings as well, where Jimmy Walker is still No. 1 after winning three out of 18 events he’s participated in this season. Bubba Watson is No. 5 and Matt Kuchar No. 4 with two and one Tour wins this year, respectively.

See Scott win in dramatic fashion.

The same can be said for McIlroy on the same weekend across the pond.
