USGA Play 9 Rickie Fowler Video

USGA Play 9 Rickie Fowler Video

PGA Tour pro and fashion trendsetter Rickie Fowler promotes the USGA’s effort to increase interest in the game. It come as no surprise the golf ruling body would select Fowler for its mass effort to attract newcomers and old duffers back to the game. The Play 9 program touts how it is possible to work it into life with quicker, affordable, nine-hole rounds, less-expensive equipment and better play and preparation.

USGA Play 9 is an effort to celebrate the nine-hole round and encourage people to get into the game by making it more accessible overall. The USGA and American Express are even holding a national Play 9 Day on July 23, 2014, along with a number of promotions to go along with the event on their website

Take a look at ever-irreverent Fowler giving some love to the nonprofit USGA Play 9 program. Come on, ya gotta love a good, young player who gives back and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

If anyone has seen a boy at a course lately, he’s probably wearing Fowler Orange, wearing PUMA gear and using COBRA golf clubs. And just for fun, below the Play 9 advice on making golf more accessible, we also put Fowler’s now-classic SportCenter commercial. (He’s color blind. Get it?).

The kid himself has got it right now. He even brought his mom to the 2014 Masters to caddie for him on family day while others brought their high-profile buddies or girlfriends (Ahem, ex-fiancee now for Rory McIlroy.).

And Fowler at the office in Bristol, Conn., the worldwide headquarters of ESPN, “I think this milk’s gone bad. Yeah.”
