World Golf Rankings: The Best This Week

Sunday’s finish at THEĀ PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Florida knocked one well-known name in golf out of the top 10 for the first time in recent memory: Phil Mickelson. Lefty is having a rough year, and another missed cut compiled his problematic 2014 PGA Tour season.

Meanwhile, some of golf’s big names held steady. Adam Scott’s T38 obviously wasn’t enough to finally displace Tiger Woods, who remains idle following back surgery weeks ago.

However, Rory McIlroy charging back into the top 10 with a T6 finish in Ponte Vedra Beach. Sergio Garcia’s third-place also was enough for him to jump two spots from ninth to seventh.

Here’s a link to the FedEx Cup Standings as well, where Jimmy Walker is still No. 1 after winning three out of 16 events he’s participated in this season. Bubba Watson is No. 2 and Matt Kuchar No. 3 with two and one Tour wins this year, respectively.
